Softball Fundamental Skills takes a look at specific skills and gives you practical tips on how to deliver quality coaching advice to your players.
IMPORTANT – Prerequisites
You must complete the Softball Batter Up Coaching Induction prior to completing this course. In addition to this, you must provide evidence of completion for the prerequisites listed below, in addition to the course content to obtain your course completion certificate.
Prerequisites for Softball Batter Up Induction, Softball Fundamental Skills, Softball Training and Practice and Softball Managing Games courses can be accessed via the links below.
Please upload your certificates received for the following:
- Essential skills course | Australian Sports Commission
- Coaches Code of Conduct | Signed and Submitted
- Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Induction | Sport Integrity Australia
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The Australian Sports Commission recently updated the Community Coaching – Essentials Skills Course to a module-based course. You will be required to complete all 7 modules and be issued with the formal certificate to meet the prerequisite requirement.
The other main change is the removal of the Safeguarding module. As Sports Integrity Australia now have a centralised Safeguarding Children and Young People course on their website, the initial Safeguarding module is no longer required in the Community Coaching Essential Skills course.
Softball Australia will require all coaches and teacher deliverers to complete the Sport Integrity Australia Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Induction module if they commence/complete the new Community Coaching – Essential Skills Course.
If you have uploaded any of the pre-requisites for another course already, you do not have to complete them again, simply place them in the upload section of the additional course. However, they must stay up to date to ensure each of the prerequisite certificates are “current”.
You will be asked in the last section of each course to upload the certificates from your pre-requisite courses.
There is a section at the end of this course for you to upload documents as proof of completion. You can work through this course and the prerequisites at your own pace, but before you are awarded “completion”, the final step is to provide PDF copies of the certificates achieved and your signed Coaches Code of Conduct.
Once your documents are checked you will be notified and your completion certificate made available to you.
